Lucky Lachie has won the 2024 Manning Point Fishing Classic in a tightly run affair. 

In a weekend where the fish came in spits and spurts, Lucky got a few nice flatties and a bream, but more importantly, 4 muddies including a world record sized one*.

BigJig Geoff has taken out the social award, the Dougie. 

He stunned the locals at Manning Point Bowling Club by winning 5 meat trays. The rest of the competitors could only pick up 5 themselves.

Jerkbait has taken out the Rookie of the Year Trophy. He put in a sterling effort right throughout the event, doing everything asked of him. 

Special mention must go for his efforts taking the sauce orders at Coopernook and especially his morning BBQ efforts on board Formosa.

An interesting days fishing was had after a good Friday night at the club where we won 10 meat trays and were warmly welcomed by the locals. 

Team Catch n Kill had a great breakfast on the water on Saturday morning which was going well until BigJig, Pacific and Ganghook came for some food and took some fish.

Significant works has been done on the Manning Point boat ramp using some kind of silica substance to reduce friction. 

MPFC Infrastructure Chief, Marcus Copperi, will not reveal what the substance is, or who even is the major contractor. 

We hope it produces the desired outcomes for the big tournament only a week away.
