Significant works has been done on the Manning Point boat ramp using some kind of silica substance to reduce friction.
MPFC Infrastructure Chief, Marcus Copperi, will not reveal what the substance is, or who even is the major contractor.

Fishin Phil has taken out his second Manning Point Fishing Classic with an emphatic performance. His 78cm flathead picked up on Saturday afternoon was unlikely to be beaten and it wasn't.
There were plenty of fish about on Sunday morning but definitely in hot patches rather than consistently.
