2024 Manning Point Fishing Classic Champion, Lucky Lachie, has had his exploits celebrated in a new work commissioned by Marcus Copperi.

Twice crumbed with a squeeze of lemon. The ones that didn't get away.  Like some! 

Lucky Lachie has won the 2024 Manning Point Fishing Classic in a tightly run affair. 

In a weekend where the fish came in spits and spurts, Lucky got a few nice flatties and a bream, but more importantly, 4 muddies including a world record sized one*. 

Ganghook was solid all weekend and Sailfin also caught some good fish. Haka

BigJig Geoff has taken out the social award, the Dougie. 

He stunned the locals at Manning Point Bowling Club by winning 5 meat trays. The rest of the competitors could only pick up 5 themselves.

Jerkbait has taken out the Rookie of the Year Trophy. He put in a sterling effort right throughout the event, doing everything asked of him. 

Special mention must go for his efforts taking the sauce orders at Coopernook and especially his morning BBQ efforts on board Formosa. 

Two flatty, 41 and 38, and a decent little crab or two for Luckys count.

Bets are now on for rookie fight club. Who will win? The man mountain jerkbait or the inexplicably flexible andchovy?

..Or will the battle to end all battles result in an awkward shirtless draw?

An interesting days fishing was had after a good Friday night at the club where we won 10 meat trays and were warmly welcomed by the locals. 

Team Catch n Kill had a great breakfast on the water on Saturday morning which was going well until BigJig, Pacific and Ganghook came for some food and took some fish.

The honour guard consisting of 2 previous champions, last years rookie of the year and dougie winner, and contender for rookie of the year, are in convoy escorting the dougie and rookie trophies under tight security. 

It's that time of year again where two lovers separated only by distance are reunited for a night of lustful glances and uncomfortable flirting.
